Workday Functional HR Consultant
Job Description:
We are seeking bright and motivated HR ERP consultants interested in learning the Workday product to fill Workday Functional HR Consultant roles. Accepted candidates will have deep experience in HR business
processes and have implemented/upgraded several HR ERP systems. This position requires 100% travel with projects executed on-site at CedarCrestone client locations nationwide with a typical week of four 10-hour days.
General Duties/Tasks:
- Provide Workday functional consulting services by acting as subject matter expert and leading clients through the entire systems development lifecycle
- Work on all project phases including fit/gap, configuration, and testing
- Assist clients in fully integrating the Workday system into their current business environments and provide input on best practices
- Advise client on options, risks, and any impacts on other processes or systems
- Configure the Workday system to meet each client’s unique business requirements
- Complete tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
- Report progress to clients and project managers
- Continually seek ways to improve the process of delivering Workday solutions
- Share knowledge to continually improve implementation methodology
Required Skills:
- Minimum of five years HR ERP experience with Oracle E-Business or PeopleSoft
- Extensive experience with implementations as an HR, benefits or payroll functional lead
- Experience with the full lifecycle of both implementations and upgrades
- Significant Higher Education and/or Public Sector industry experience
- Solid understanding of setup tables, processing, and reporting requirements
- Solid understanding of various HR business processes
- Ability to develop creative solutions
- Previous Workday training preferred, but not required

- Demonstrated ability to manage project scope and client expectations
- Demonstrated follow-through on assignments and issue resolution
Consulting Skills:
- Clear and effective communication
- Consistently produce clear, concise status reports
- Builds confidence and trust with clients

Job Description:
We are seeking bright and motivated Financials systems consultants interested in learning the Workday product to fill Workday Functional Financials Consultant roles. Accepted candidates will have deep experience in Financials business processes and have implemented/upgraded several Financials systems. This position requires 50–75% travel with projects executed on-site at CedarCrestone client locations nationwide with a typical travel week of four 10-hour days. A dedicated home office is required for offsite work.
General Duties/Tasks:
- Become an expert in the Workday product suite: Financial Management, Initiatives, Spend Management, and Grants Management
- Provide Workday functional consulting services by acting as a subject matter expert and leading clients through the entire systems development lifecycle
- Work on all project phases including design, configuration, and testing
- Assist clients in fully integrating the Workday system into their current business environments and provide input on best practices
- Advise client on options, risks, and any impact on other processes or systems
- Configure the Workday system to meet each client's unique business requirements
- Complete tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
- Use proven oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with team, customers and executive leadership
- Be a key contributor to our growing Workday practice and community
- Share knowledge to continually improve deployment methodology
Required Skills:
- Minimum of five years financial application experience such as Oracle E-Business, PeopleSoft or SaaS model software
- Extensive experience as a functional lead in at least (3) of the following areas: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Grant and/or Fund Management, Procurement, Fixed Assets, Projects, Cash/Treasury, Financial Reporting
- Experience with the full lifecycle of both implementations and upgrades
- Knowledge of accounting principles, standards and compliance
- Solid understanding of global business processes and reporting
- Significant industry experience in either higher education or public sector
- Self motivated to learn and develop solutions
- Previous Workday training preferred but not required
- Advanced Excel and MS office skills

- Complete tasks efficiently and in a timely manner

- Provide quality formal and informal documentation consistent with documentation standards
Required Skills:

- Experience with the various technologies involved in SOA development (XML, XPath, XSLT, Web Services, etc.)
- Experienced with database development
- Fluency in Web Services standards and technologies ( XML, SOAP, WSDL, XSD, UDDI, etc.)
- Experience with the full lifecycle of both implementations and upgrades
- Ability to develop creative solutions
- Experience with Web Service and ESBs products (Oracle SOA Suite, BEA AquaLogic/WLI, IBM WebSphere, Axis, JAX-WS, etc.)
